Fiberglass matt showing

Recently I have noted that some strands of the fiberglass matt material are beginning to show on the outside of the forward hatch. This hatch is opaque to let light through and the matt is showing on the opaque part of the hatch. The area is about 1" square. What should I do to prevent further delamination? Thxs for any thoughts.

BTW ... I'm in freshwater.

I think the sun is degrading the epoxy. I am seeing the same thing on my front hatch. In the spring I'm going to paint it like the rest of the boat. I don't need the light from the hatch. You could scuff it and add some epoxy. Then sand it smooth and paint.
