Are there sources of owner manuals or build documentation for an older Hatteras? I am close to a deal on a 1974 48YF

The first place to call would be Hatteras. Have the hull # handy. There's a good chance they have yours on microfiche somewhere.

Hatteras will provide a copy of the original set of manuals and the build documentation (blueprints) to the new owner. As stated, you'll need the hull number and I think previous owners name. They'll re-register the boat in your name to keep their information updated.

Many of the people that built your soon to be Yachtfish still work at the Hatteras plant in New Bern. If the Hatteras plant can't help you, there are enough people around here that know Hatts VERY well.

Thank you for the information. The boat is in San Diego. I am planning to use Ross Hubbard from Oxnard, whom I know and trust, as my surveyor. Mechanic has already checked engines and we are working on a maintenance plan to get the boat ready for the trip up the coast to Oxnard if the survey is OK.
