Has anyone of the 43 Guru's here replaced the hose aft of the mufflers on a 78 or newer 43DC. I have spent the morning researching the forum. If you have will the mufflers slide forward once the aluminum plate in the ER is removed. My visual recon suggests that there may be some cutting involved and I would really like to know ahead of time.

We are replacing from the shower heads to the hose aft of the mufflers including the elbows with FG.

I have already talked to Steve and he is not 100% sure so We are looking for hands on knowledge.

As always thanks so much!

Not sure how a 43DC is set up but I did it on my 46C. The mufflers are strapped to cradles. We had to cut open the ER bulkhead and have a skinny guy crawl in and take things apart. You should be able to get to the mufflers from the aft stateroom. If they don't have to come out, you might be able to work on the hose from there. Steve can tell you the dimensions of the mufflers you have. My mufflers were much larger in diameter than the hole in the bulkhead so the cutting was inevitable.

My 43 dc has the st stl Y connections at the bulkhead, one was leaking and we just replaced it with a F/G elbow, was a struggle but went in ok.

My stbd side connection is under the vanity unscrew the acces door and there it is, Ports in the hanging locker I have fiberglass from the mufflers back. I'd guess the best place to get at them at least on mine is through the bottom of the slider cabinents on the side and aft by unscrewing the acces doors at the back of the fuel tanks. Not an easy job for sure good luck. Bill

Bill,

We are opened up. there is a short 8-10" hose between the muffler and the fiberglass tube is the one we need to change. The mufflers do not appear to be strapped down and it looks like the starboard side will slide far enough forward to change it. The port one may need to be opened up at the ER.

I will post the results for future generations!
