Anyone have a source? Both Diesel Pro and J&T are negative. Diesel Parts Direct says the serial number shows no temperature sensor(s) period. I guess this was left to whomever was building the application?

(Voice mail in to SAM's)

And while we're on the subject anyone know the thread size off the top of their head?

Same for the mechanical gauge?

EDIT: After further digging it appears this is all on the gauge manufacturer. The SB electric gauges are not original. Somewhere down the line they were replaced with Stewart Warner gauges.....

EDIT II Managed to read a faint number stamped on the sensor......(facing UP, now that's luck)....and then took a loooong walk around the internet, and struck pay dirt... WAIT those are "B"s not "8"'s So I found the sensor special order......

The original gauges and senders were AC (Delco), but they do not make them any more. Stewart Warner is a popular replacement. Generally, if you change the gauge from an AC to an SW then you also have to change the sender to match. Also, "dual station" senders that drive two gauges (helm and flybridge) are generally different than "single station" senders designed to drive only one gauge. Finally, all of the gauges, except for the voltage gauge of course, are 12V, not 32V. They are powered via Newmar DC-DC converters located in the helm and the flybridge.

AHA! That's a piece of the puzzle I was missing! Thank you. It all makes a lot more sense now.

If any link in the chain fails, you have to replace everything. The best prices are from Lauderdale Speedometer in my experience. I went through this with all my gauges on the port engine at both helms after the block heater shorted. I also recall there being issues with using 32v grounds with 12v gauges......? Perhaps an electrician can comment.
