Today I found that my port and starboard engine room exhaust blowers came on by themselves. The indicator lights were on but the switch was in the off position. I had to open the 32 volt breakers to get them to shut off.. I thought it was the switch and changed it with the same result, blowers on. I tested the old switch and it is not shorted. Is there a second source from another system that would energize the blowers and the load side of the switch? Im thinking the fire control system maybe?

What happens when when you check the continuity of wires which attach to the switch, without the switch installed?

On mine, you can turn them on from the flybridge, or pilothouse....

A short in the second switch would certainly explain this problem!

I think you may have found the problem. I put the upper helm cover on.Most likely I hit the upper switches. I will check. Thanks to all for the help.
