  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I just ordered a NoLand Engineering RS11 to display engine data over NMEA 2000 for my dual station 671N's on a 1978 43DC. Does anyone know the following for setup? I don't want to rely on my gages to determine this if I don't need to.

1) Tach - Pulses/Rev
2) Water Temp - x Volts = y Degree F for a couple of data points or a formula
3) Oil Pressure - x Volts = y PSI for a couple of data points or a formula

Thanks in advance....

Sorry I can't help with your precise question but please post details of your installation progress as I'm close behind you on this project. What other equip are you using? Are you using new senders? What voltage? There are different senders which will make it difficult for anyone to give you good answers.

I did install new mechanical gauges in the ER so will have a good reference for calibration. They're not expensive and pretty simple to install.

I still have the original 12V AC gages and senders. Not sure if I can just look up specs on the senders or if I need to get actual readings somehow.

If the OEM senders are accurate and the gauges are supplying reliable current you can use the signal off the back of the gauges. Mine are not.

Where do you plan to locate the Nolan unit? What will you use for display?

I'm keeping my OEM gages and locating the NoLand unit just below the lower helm gage panel to keep new wire runs short. I have an access point from my aft salon bulkhead to that area for wiring. All my other black boxes are located on the starboard wall of the forward hanging closet in the master stateroom. This closet has a back door to the main 120V and 12V panels so this gave me a large surface and short wire runs everywhere. That closet also has the cold air return for the master stateroom evaporator so built in cooling/air circulation etc. and very easy access.
