I need to check the alignment on my 8-71N with 2" shafts.
How do I check them?

If this is your first time, probably best to call a mechanic (or someone who has done it) and look over their shoulder.

Not rocket science, but you don't want to get it wrong.

Yeah, its pretty simple BUT you have to pay attention, specifically to the coupler bolts when you put it back together. That's a flange joint and the bolts do NOT take the load in shear - if the flanges slip you WILL break the coupler bolts and then you're not going anywhere!

I'd have someone show you (even if you have to pay them - e.g. a mechanic) - the first time around.
