  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' LRC (1975 - 1981)
I have a twin station Hynautic set-up and both port throttle shifters "drift" down from where I put them.

As an example, if I push the engines up to 1,450 RPM's (don't laugh, that's my cruising speed!), over the next 30 seconds, the port throttle (upper and lower stations) will drift back down a few hunderd RPM's. I'm guessing it's the linkage connected to the engine that needs to be tightened, but would appreciate an expert opinion.

Thanks!

Either air in the system or you need the charging valve update.

Never as simple as tightening down a hex nut, is it?? :)

Rarely on them. You should not be able to move the slave by hand on the throttles. The booster spring should not effect the controls. If you have the brass screws on top of the charging valves, I would do the update kit .

Like cpaptddis says. Been through that drill myself.

Call Gary Sorenson at Marine Controls. He's very helpful and a Hynautics distributor. He'll walk you through how to trouble shoot and a DIY fix. Also a good Naiad guy too.
