  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' MOTOR YACHT (1984 - 1987)
So here we sit in the marina getting blown with 20-35 mph North wind. Its raining and 35 degrees. The boat is rocking around a little too much. My Marquipt boarding ladder just fell between the boat and dock. Now I'm wet and cold, hands numb trying to fix this problem. My bow line snap in half so thats how the boat swung away from the dock. Thank goodness I had tied a second bow line or things would have been much worse. I can only dream of last years memories. The 43 MY is taking the seas in Hawks Channel off marathon with stride.

At least you are ok! Where are you these days? It's blowing all the time on Elbow Cay now. The dink is stowed and it's time to kick back.
We had to give up on bringing the steps along and we only use the ladder now. Was it the steps or the ladder that fell?

We are in Southport, NC now and working (yuk). The boat is running better than ever but we have no buyers. I guess they want me to give it away. This wind is crazy. The marquipt stairs took a beating while I was away from the boat on Sunday and fell between the boat and the dock. A dock line snapped on the bow allowing the boat to drift away from the dock. Thank goodness I had a double line so it held and didnt crash into the nieghbors boat. Going to the Bahamas would be a let down if the wind continues to howl. The water is too rough to get the tender out and the water to merky to snorkle. I guess I would head father south to the turks and cacos. Thats why I want a sail boat. I'm heading for Honduras. ha

We did finalize our purchase, Pate. After a shockingly good survey/sea trial, we bought a 63 ft Viking Motoryacht out of RI. We look forward to doing New England and slowly south this spring/summer. On to Florida and beyond after hurricane season. Good luck with your sale and "sail". Hope to see you in the deep blue. Not going to linger much in murky, brown water!

We stopped bringing them along because they have little value when docking at fixed docks that are higher up as they are in the Bahamas. Most folks use a ladder on the side and they include all except one Hatt here.

We've had some 50K gusts over here this year. Dinks have been blown up over davits on sailboats and some solar panels have been relocated as well.
