If the Bird is going quiet (not silent) It will be up to others to keep the sandbar well defined. I know many feel it was too far off the subject but to steal a motto we need to keep up the talk of the "hatteras lifestyle". We try to live it we can talk about it.

Get together and use them boats boys and girls because no boat is going to give you pleasure if you don't use it. Even a Hatteras.

Well said Scott he also made me realize we have more to share then just how to make are boats better. Using them is the best part of it all then sharing stories about it is second best then when you can't do that make some more boating friends if you DARE . He is always just a PM or call away.

My step sister is getting married in July on the island. Her brother is getting married in sept in California. Thats a lot of weddings. too much for one year if you ask me but I guess I have to go. there goes all my vacation time.

Dan , when you going to mention the gauntlet thrown down by the RLDT crowd?(rolling little death trap's aka bertram 31) they actually think they can do a better job of kicking hatt butt than thier big brothers at the shoot out. thier haveing a get togther first weekend of Aug in montauk Ny, and want to have a tournement. due to fairness requierments, I have to diclose the fact that I'm friends with the guy that is running the thing,so I'm a shoe in to win the 41classic express division(the requierments are that you have a hatt 41express, and as I'm the only one that I know of in the area with one, guess who's got the inside line?)

Hmmmm ..... sounds good ... i'm an old 31 bert man myself, but there's Hatt in my blood now. Only problem is that I'm commited to a boat party on the sunday (great party ... few hundred boats ... few thousand people). I'm game for satuday though ! .... and a wedding, love 'em, just not fer me ... I'm still paying from the first one.
But as I told her "I had a boat before I had a wife ... and i'll have one after" !

Don't pick on the 31 berts. I spent alot of time on them in my previous life. I repowered many. I also replaced bulkheads, Stringers, Decks, replaced fuel tanks, fixed cracks and repainted many. They were one of my favorite boats out there. They always needed some work and I was doing fiberglass and mechanical repairs. They did get fish though.

I must be in the dark I read this forum on a daily basis and have gained much needed advice and help from all the forum members I also have enjoyed Freebirds off the wall humor, as I have been restoring my 45c for over a year now.

On the bertram 31 thing. I'm getting t-shirts made, not sure of what the back is going to say(probably something to the effect of bert looses again), but on the front
