  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
56' MOTOR YACHT (1981 - 1984)
Good morning everyone hope all had a great Fourth of July.....we are in Lighthouse Point Marina at the far West of Toms River....we are looking for a diver to check the bottom of our boat we ran aground 4 times after coming in the Barneget Inlet in the Oyster Creek Channel we were able to back out after rocking the boat a few times...2 SF behind us and saw we were going the wrong way and just let us run aground then went by laughing WELCOME TO NJ....the marina we are at does not have any nor knows of any diver services....we really need some help anybody have any suggestions....

wow can't believe nobody in NJ knows of a Diver for bottom inspections and cleaning ...guess nobody in NJ has their boat bottoms cleaned in the water or inspected....must be a lot of Jersey boats full of Barnacles and slime and no Zincs lol....i guess NJ doesn't have salt water...well thanks to a local dive shop in Toms River they told me about ...MUDDY WATERS DIVE SERVICES Luke Shinners 732-768-7334.....did a great job at giving me a clean bill of health on my bottom and also made a video so the client can see the bottom of his boat...and he even came out on Sunday which impressed me for NJ since the Marina I'm staying at is closed on Sunday and Mondays ...go figure...

Glad you were able to sort things out. Surprised the marina didn't have any divers they could recommend. Mine is local and pretty pricey but he does work in that area. If I saw this earlier I would have given you his number. Barnegat bay is too shallow, particularly going that far up the bay. Last time I was through Barnegat Inlet I had to wait several days to get in and out. Any west winds and there's no water in the bay. Best bet is to be at the marinas closest to the inlet. Watch the inlet as it gets real nasty and shoaling changes daily.

The guys who went by laughing are divers but because of their outstanding boating ethics they are out of business.
