This is just a general note that may help others in the future.
I had a long-standing "issue" with lower WOT RPM's on my 6V92 TA stbd. engine than on the port. Various solutions were proposed and tried without success over a period of years. I also noted that the stbd. fuel burn was higher than on the port side.

Just recently, I discussed this with a mechanic in Miami and he suggested a fouled after-cooler. He checked injectors; valves; cylinders---all were good BUT the after-cooler was FILTHY.

He removed; cleaned; and, re-installed and we sea-trialed. SUCCESS!!

The WOT stbd. was 2336 compared to 2340 port. Now the fuel burn stbd. was LESS than port. When next I am "in funds", guess I'll have to get the port after-cooler cleaned.

It's not a particularly-difficult job, just a pain in the butt because you have to dismount the blower to get to it (and drain the cooling system), which means you have to do a complete rack re-set when you're done.

And yeah, they get dirty and you lose both airflow and charge cooling efficiency.

Would dirty coolers have much effect on slow operation (1000-1100 rpm)? My port side was last cleaned 3000 hours ago, the starboard side about 1000 hours ago and was pretty clean at that time as I recall.
