  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I am considering a Highfield Dinghy for my 53MY. The width is 5'8". Does anyone have experience mounting this size or brand? I worry about the width, and could get it in 10'2" or 11'2" length. My boat is in storage and the one on there now is a bit too large, but I don't know the dimensions.
 
I have a highfield on my 53. Width is not an issue.

Very nice what model do you have? I see you went with the white one is that correct?
 
I have the grey 11' but my friend has the 12' with the same 25hp Susuki and his planes out much easier and he always wins when we race. I just thought the 11 fit up there better.
 
Is that the 340gt Sky? If so how do you Like it ? It looks like it can seat 5 pretty well.

Yes, that's it. But I don't have that fiberglass console. I have the side mount seating that's open underneath. It makes for much more legroom and seating. I like it. Its a dry ride but it is light so it does bounce around quite a bit.
 
I have the 310 classic tiller model and we love it. Light, 5 pass capacity, and well built. The integrated front step/fuel tank locker is a great addition.
 
I am considering an Achilles 315DX. Capacity is 5 people or 1,300 lbs which could be 6 people depending on weight of each. It is a smaller in length at 10'4" and narrower at 5'5". My current dinghy is 12"4" and looks too big on the boat and at a width of 5'7" is touching the fiberglass spray rail so no room to move around it.

Sky- What is your wet weight? How do you feel about the Davit load. I think I have the save Davit (Before I over loaded it).

Its under 400lbs total and no problem at all for that 1000lb davit.
