  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
54' MOTOR YACHT (1985 - 1988)
I have two sets of dinghy cradles for sale:

Aluminum UMT cradles to fit 12' Avon. Almost new, perfect condition. Cost new $895. I will sell mine for $450 plus shipping.

Older style wood cradles to fit classic style 13' Boston Whaler. Good condition. They don't fit my Whaler sport model. Free to good home. Just pay shipping.

So don't tell me Bill - you went with that 65mph, submersible, porpoise looking jet ski/submarine? Mounting it to the top of the galley?

No,no! Not that jet drive TRON-looking thing. The Whaler Sport looks much like the classic Whaler except that it has no teak and the bottom has a slightly different configuration; just enough different that the older style cradles I got free from Yachtsman Willie won't fit.

Can you possibly modify your chocks to fit your new boat? That's what I did with the aluminum chocks Pascal gave me so that they would fit my Hober. I used a grinder to change the shape after making a template, padded them, stripped and repainted them, and through-bolted them to the deck. Perfect fit! Just an option if you don't find what you're looking for.

I modified mine just added a piece on the aft ones to catch the outer hulls of the whaler..been good for 3 yrs including rock and roll

Bill,
Do you have any photos of the alum mounts for the Avon? I'm about to remount my 12' RIB and was planning a custom ss mount like my neighbors.
Is it a factory make I can find on the internet to get the specs on?
Thanks,

Unfortunately these can't be modified to fit the Whaler. The Whaler has a much broader bottom configuration than the Avon, so the cradles are too narrow. I'll post some pictures when I get back from the boat Sunday evening. However, if anyone wants to see the general style go to
www.umt@umtmarine.com and look for the picture of their "stationary or removable chocks".

Wrong web address, sorry. Use <www.UMTmarine.com>. click on "products", then "chocks". Scroll down to "removable" and click on word "L-shaped" highlighted in yellow.
