Hatteras Model

Paint has flaked off the stbd Covington 671 ti oil pan and I want to prime and paint it. No rust shows and I wonder if it is aluminum?

Please let me know which metal.

Thanks

It just hit me, a magnet should answer my question.

Hi All,

Our's is steel !

Steel on mine too.

Ah yes, the old MAGNET trick! Heck, anybody can figure that out with a magnet! It takes talent, skill and a certain degree of persistence to make that determination without hi-tech devices like magnets or other modern Nancy-boy tools! :)

Unless its stainless steel.

The magnet stuck to the pan.
