Detroit Diesel 6V92 idle adjustment

What is the correct idle RPM for a 6V92. Mine are idling right at 600 RPM’s which seems a little high. Any advice or tips on how o adjust the idle on these DD’s? Thanks in advance!

There is a set screw on the aft side of the governor. Allen wrench adjusts it. You have to loosen a lock nut first.

Seem a little high,,, Per who???
IMO 600 RPM is pretty dam good.

I think da book says 550 RPM in gear.

My 12V71s idle @ 625,, 575 to 610 in gear.
Been this way for 17 years. I'm not touching them even if their wrong.
Never kick a sleeping dawg.
