Hatteras Model
45' CONVERTIBLE-Series II (1984 - 1992)
Exactly what does this board do I can"t get enough details in my manuals from Hatteras Thanks

Not sure what the question is but if you have the demister light on your systems monitor, it was to tell you the element needed changing. If you no longer have the demisters then it is probably non functional.

Hey Dave... is that the crankcase de-mister? My monitor doesnt have one so how can I tell if mine is dirty? Crap cans are on the agenda too! ws

yea, the boats that had factory demisters in the early 90s had the alarm. I don't think it did much, then Airseps became the rage and most dumped their demisters. I have installed many Airseps, but opted to keep my demisters.
I have seperate small demisters that I removed from some 671s that I made into airbox drain cans. They look and work great.
As far as your demisters go I would change the foam element every other years.

Hey Dave... had to wait 2 days to get this one in (?) Being a 1974, are my demisters foam or a screen? I sincerely doubt they have ever been serviced.
Are those and OEM DD part, or is there a Fram or AC part number? Thanks, ws

Bill,
the only demisters that I have seen were on early 1990's boats. they were a big can that looks similar to a 5 gallon bucket. I doubt you have one.

Hey Sky... I think the de-mister that Dave was refering to is behind the plate that carries the vent tube to the inlet horn. The draft causes oil mist to collect on an internal screen and fall back into the crankcase. Its either a screen or a 'glass filter. Dave?? The small can down low is the airbox drain filter. Both need service, I'm sure! ws

Hi Bill,
The demister I was reffering to was the one Sky described. Usually the breathers from DD had a brillo like material that rarely needed cleaning.

Thanks Dave... that saves me another gasket and an hour of cleaning! Same thing in that crap can? ws
