My LRC is nearing completion of a year plus refurb / paint job. I previously had a chest freezer on the back deck. I am deciding whether to replace it. I may or may not use a freezer but do use it as a worktop from time to time for various things. And I could always use it for storage. In addition it is sturdy enough to be used as a base for my Big Green Egg Minimax. Another option might be some type of fiberglass cabinet but would need to be sturdy enough to support the 90 pound Egg. Any ideas? Thoughts? Sources for such a cabinet?

I find that a freezer is a must have. Like yours it is on the aft deck they will only last 3-4 years. Even after painting everything I can on he underside they will rust. I keep a heavy wood cutting board on the top and use it for a work bench.

Ya know even if I don't plug it in I'm leaning that way. I was thinking of adhering a butcher block top and then I could just screw down a couple little wood blocks to keep my Egg from sliding. A freezer would be sturdy enough. And if I ever caught a fish I could clean it there. I'm kind of like you. It's a nice height to use for working on various things. I have a deck box on the other side that can serve as a seat. I'll put a little thought into whether I just want another one of those so we could sit back there in the rain or to get out of the sun but I need somewhere for my grill.
