deck drain repair

I have a port and stb mid ship deck drains leaking on a 1980 61 Hat MY. They drain water from the bow and forward sides. Drains are about 5 inches and funnel into a hose of about 1 1/4 inch. I tried re bedding the screws holding the top dirt screen, but the leaks persist. Looking for advice on what to expect and how others have corrected the problem before I rip into it. Thanks, PJ61

I’m not about to 61 footer, on my 53 I have drainage issues. I took off the screens and very very easily put the hose inside the hose an force cleaned the hose and exit ports. What’s I had free follow the minor leaks start.

On my 63, I have repaired the port side. It was a spiral vinyl hose, that cracked. Access to the drain and hose was by removing a cedar plywood panel in closet back of the aft guest stateroom. The hose transits across the closet back, and into the port ER. I used 4200 to rebed the drain cover and screws. Haven't done starboard, but I'm sure it's accessed down the "tunnel" near the washer dryer.

Just done mine on 61 CMY from 1983. Picture is of port side accessed through removable panel in master closet. These are drains fwd and aft of side deck wing door. I have replaced all the hoses as some of the originals were leaking and had gone brittle with age. Starboard side were accessed by removing small towel cupboard by master tub / shower.
I also have two aft deck drains which were a real PIA to replace, having to pull down headling in master stateroom.
Also watch out for water intrusion into deck core from screws that hold debris cover on deck. Hatteras design was good to prevent this, but not so much the implementation.
