Would anyone be able to recommend a good DD mechanic for my area? I'm feeling a 'miss-fire' kind of thing and the engine is putting a little soft soot on the transom. Injector(s)?? 6V92TA 425 HP.

PS, Just returned from a ten day trip to Miami... 210 NM, 167 gal of fuel, several nights on the hook with generator for cooking/battery charging. This stretch has LOTS of bridges and slow speed areas. Average moving speed (per Garmin) was a bit over 6 knots. With all that slow running, I put it on plane near the end of the trip and the smoke was gone by the time the boat came up on plane. Engine temps via IR pyrometer were 160-168F depending on location at 7.5-8 knots.:D

Morgan French, of Morgan's Marine Services, has taken care of Fanfare's engines for well over 20 years, including removal/installation of my new 6-92TAs a few years back. He works out of Stuart.

My highest recommedation.

His phone is 954-610-4018, cell 772-288-3785.

Many thanks. I'll give him a call.
