  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
37' CONVERTIBLE (1977 - 1982)
Adelmans currently has some killer deals on US Government surplus QSB 6.7 475hp. $20k with gears.6.7

pros
Great deal
Smaller footprint (need all the room I can get on my 37')
In the 450-500hp range of the QSC/6CTA 8.3

cons
Not a sleeved block
More HP per liter

What am I missing?

I have 270HP 5.9's in my 34 and it runs great. The 6.7 IMO should be a good application for the 37. While HP is high I believe these have proven to be a reliable engine. Under prop it a bit and go for it.

I have the QSB 6.7 in my 58 LRC, great engine. 3500 hrs

Looked into these and the fpt 6.7s for my 38 repower. Got a great deal on c9 cats which is only reason I didn’t use them. Great power package
