CQR/Plow V Shaped Braces

I received a Stainless CQR/Plow anchor as a present. It came with two, stainless, V shaped accessories, each leg of which is about 4 inches long. I am not sure what these are for. Does anyone know? If not, how does one stop the CQR/Plow from pivoting back and forth when the anchor rode is fully retracted and the anchor is up against the roller? Thanks. Sorry, I left them on board or else I would have posted pictures of the V- shaped things.

On my 63, the stainless Articulated plow nests with the angled flukes of the chain roller chute touching the plow blades.

In contacting the company that supplied the stainless CQR, they have confirmed that the stainless braces were not intended to be in the box and have nothing to do with this anchor. With that said, I now have two questions. First, the shank of the anchor does not sit on any groove on the roller since the roller I have has no slot, if you will, for a shank. I assume that means I need to replace the roller? Also, the CQR has a joint in it and at present there is nothing to prevent the anchor from swinging side to side, at that joint, when fully retracted. I rarely, if ever, anchor and am curious whether there is something designed for this type of an anchor to prevent that side to side swinging when the anchor is not in use?

I don't know the answer to that, but I want to be on the Christmas list of whoever gave you a SS plow anchor. Wow.

See post #2, there are purpose built chutes/rollers that hold the anchor in place. I used a plow style anchor for years; it never failed to hold.
