Cost to clear Panama Canal

I have a friend of a friend who says he was just charged $85K to clear through the Panama Canal. We are trying to back into the math. Can someone give me the short and simple on how to calculate your cost to clear the panama canal?

Thats hard to believe. There's a family that just went through the canal on a 43' Nordhavan trawler a couple weeks ago. His blog is the same as their boat name "Three@Sea". He has a good blog with very good information. I'm sure he will respond back to you if you e-mail him. However, I think the official website for the canal has a pricing chart that gives you the info. I'm not sure though.

Is it possible he put the punctuation in the wrong place ($85,000 vs $850.00)?

Friend says third party friend operates a modern private vessel above 100 ft and the $85K is real. I will get some more details...
