I'm getting ready to do the window re-seal project, both salon and bridge deck windows, on my 1973 43 DCMY. Does anyone know for sure what the correct vinyl gasket size is? Sam's offers two sizes: 5/8 & 7/8. They say I need 7/8, but I pulled a section that was in good shape up from under the hardtop. It's 5/8. Some of the windows were re-bedded by the PO about six years ago. I can't be sure that what he used was correct.

If your talking about the rubber trim that goes on the outside of the window, I used the grey 5/8" supplied by Sams on my 1972 43 DC. Also used it on my windsheild.

That's it. Thanks. When you did your windows, did you follow the procedure that is on the Sam's web site? If so. how has it held up?

Mine were 5/8" original to the boat and that is what i used to replace them.

No I didn't know they had a procedure. What I did was removed the old stuff, washed the windows and the channesl (real good) were the new molding goes in, I used windex as a lubricant to help push in the molding, The stuff snap in real nice for me. Try not to stretch it when putting it in, the trick for me was the windex and my thumbs...

good luck!
