As part of the check valve rework the chance came to inspect the coolant pipes under the exhaust manifolds.
They were very rusty. They were originally chromed steel.
I have pulled all four pipes in total off each motor. Two about a foot long under each exhaust manifold and two "elbows" on the front top corner of each exhaust manifold.
They need replacement. Is it ok to replace these in 316 stainless steel?
They should last much longer Im hoping. I would hope electrolysis is not an issue. The coolant I run is distilled water + inhibitors. Never freezes here.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Bill.
