I have a flying bridge, which is unusual in that it is accessed from a ladder whose base sits on the swim platform and which extends entirely up to the the flying bridge deck. The Admiral would prefer to convert to a ladder that is more "normal", in which it sits off to the side of the lower bridge, lifts up and stores overhead, and enters somewhat centered to the flying bridge. We could then install wrap-around rails on the flying bridge, since the Admiral does not like going up the external ladder.
I have some bad soft spots on the flying bridge, so I thought while I was repairing those, I might as well install the central access bridge.
Does this sound feasible? Anyone parting company with their old central/lowering ladder, or seen one removed, e.g. if removing the flying bridge.
Thoughts?
