Is it possible to connect a Simrad AP25 control to where the old the Simrad ap20 control head is located.
I know they are different connectors that go into the head unit but is there are way to say,
use the Simnet (i think it's called) cut end off, go to jumper box then connect to the existing
cable that comes from the simrad course computer (robnet) that's in the engine room?

Or will I need to pull out all the old AP20 stuff to use the AP25 control head?
Thanks!

I think you need to call Simrad. The AP25 is a newer unit . I would think the pump and heading sensor would be fine but the course computer may not be compatible.

TommyB,
Do you have two functioning AP20 heads?
If so, and you're planning to dispose of them, please let me know.

No,
I have one ap20 head that is not working. AP20 head sent out to be fixed if possible.
Have a AP25 head unit what was going to try and hook up if it will work

Pretty much what simrad said, but they were not 100% sure if it would work or not.
If all else fails guess I can change out the course computer to the ap25 compatible one
