The aluminum window frames on my 43DC have always dripped some condensation in the Winter even though I have a dehumidifier running. Rather than installing insulated panels on the inside over the windows I have created a "gutter" to channel the water into cups as follows: I bought plastic 1/2 inch "J" trim (used in the sheetrock business) and sprayed it brown. Next I backed off the screws holding the inside aluminum trim on the windows and slid the "J" molding between the frame and wood paneling (the molding has a 1.5 inch "leg"). I then took plastic drink cups and trimmed off enough so that they slide under the ends of the molding to catch the water. Now the cups catch the condensation ... can be easily emptied ... can be removed during the warm months ... and no more water streaks on the paneling.

I know this isn't a "real" solution ... but it works for me ... cost about $5 and really doesn't look all that bad. The only thing that you see are the cups as the drapes are longer than the window bottoms.

Just a quick and inexpensive solution.

Dang, I was just thinking of that... almost, actually was going to run the drip into the bilge or sump on the shower.... cups are better :D

I have also described elsewhere how to install clear vinyl inside storm windows which not only eliminates frosting/dripping but dramatically cuts down on heat loss by trapping a pocket of air for insulation.
