48' CONVERTIBLE (1987 - 1990)
Well the cockpit freezer gave up the ghost. I'm pretty sure it's the original and after 20 years I'm sure it doesn't owe me anything.

The thermostat is marked Frigibar Industires, Miami and it looks like the compressor is Techumsa (SP??). 120 volt AC.

It slooooowwwwllyyy died on us this last cruise and I'd like to recharge with freon and see how long it lasts. I can't see any markings on it wrt what kind of freon it uses. Although there is a longer # that ends in "22". I've got both R12 and R22 I can use

Does anyone know which one would have been used in a 1989 48 convertible? Thanks.

I called Frigibar in Miami. Pretty nice folks, they indicated it was R12. So I'm gonna give that a try this w/e. Thx.
