I'm in a pretty rocky marine and as such my spring lines get a workout. (for those that read my last dilemma, I have moved from Newport Marina to Lincoln Harbor and whoever suggested it was right...Lincoln Harbor is ALOT better...guess I should of figured that out when I noticed that I was 1 of 3 boats (of any size) at Newport Marina but Lincoln Harbor is full...I digress)
So, my spring lines come off center cleats and based on angle and dock height, inevitably the line rubs on the outside corner of the boat's deck gunnel. there are chrome stips inlaid but they are back off of corner and thus they don't protect the gelcoat enough...basically my springs wore through gelcoat on gunnel and are contacting underlying fiberglass.
Question is has anyone seen a nice chrome piece that is intended for protecting this corner or has anyone come up with good solution, or should I just fabricate something makeshift for the job.
thanks!
