- 36' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1969 -1977)
Hi to everyone that responded to the original post about selling the Kathy L. As of today it's the first time since I graduated grammar school (1960 or so) that I am
"Boatless". My,verry own, first boat was a 16' fiberglass runabout with a 35hp Gale engine. I had that when I got married to Kathy and moved from Long Island N.Y. to
Massachusetts (1972?). Probably around 1976 we bought a 27' single engine Silverton. In 1981 Kathy and I sold it and bought the Hattreas, hence the name Kathy L.
Now 44 years later the Kathy L is off to Kauai, Hawaii to join a sister ship, a1969 36C, in a charter operation. The owners rebuilt the 1969 by themselves so they know
the boat from the keel up, that was the reason they wanted another classic 36C. Part of the deal is when, or if, Kathy and I get to Kauai we have a fishing date.
I plan to stay a member of Sam's to check in every now and then to get the Scuttlebut. Happy sailing to all.
