Which island nation was that located upon? She sure is colorful. Look pretty nicely maintained though from what I can see.

Hi All,

Gotta be honest, looks like a Painted Lady to me, one on the cheaper side. I hope it wasn't a proud Hatt, that would be sacrilegious !

It's definitely a Hatt...Think it's a 41 or 43 Double or Tri Cabin...

Here...This one might be larger...

I'd say its a jarhead who got his head jared too many times. He could just fly the USMC flag instead.

I have met the proud Marine who owns and lives aboard. He is a nice guy and loves his Hatt.

Not my taste for sure, but it is a free country thanks to him and those like him. I would bet he wouldn't care a lick about what any internet tough guys think about the color of his Hatt!

It's a Hatt, but not a 43. Could be a pre 71 or 72 38 Tri cabin or a late 60's 41 or 44. Look at the double taff rail.

Walt

p.s. No comment about choice of colors

My thoughts as well! He returned from Iraq and wants to live on a boat. He was next to me a few fourth of Julys ago. Sadly the Marina asked him to leave because of the paint job as have a few other places. Very sad that someone who puts their life on the line for us is treated that way!

BTW it is a 1966 41 with 6V53's.

That's ridiculous. What's the difference between those colors and some of the colors they're painting these new boats with? It shouldn't matter if I like it or not. It's his right(and mine and yours too) to paint it any color he wants.

Actually, seeing a bigger picture than the first time I saw it I realize it's mostly canvas. Very little of it is actually painted so it's not a blasphemous as I first thought.

BTW, if marinas are going to kick people out because of how their boat looks there's a bunch of Carver and Silverton owners who should be looking for slips long before this guy.

There no such thing as an Ex Marine.Too much Indoctranation.Yeah We all hold on to some things after 21 years but not like a Marine.

My Dad was in for 30, brother for 30, both sisters married Marines. Yep once a Marine always a Marine. Great colors!

My Dad is a Korea-era Marine and he'd love those colors. Me? I'd have opted for bLue and gold! Fortunately, the admiral has better taste and our Hatteras remains white w/ black trim...

I totally agree, hats off to the gentleman. Dave, maybe you should let us know of the marinas that won't allow him in, I don't think I want to use them. Probably a bunch of dock jockies bitching like some yachting snobs do.

It was your friend Charlie who tossed him. Then it has come and gone from at least two others around here.
