Jack your so negative, maybe you should take up golf.
You really need to lighten up. You are way too quick to judge and jump down someones throat. It was a light hearted comment, nothing more. Negative is one thing I am not.

I bet 5-10 grand could get it. If it's good enough shape (who knows) to move from VA Beach up the Potomac, that would be a nice summer ride. At that price, use it a summer and then throw it away and you're still ahead (again, if it's in usable shape).

You should buy it Krush.

I'd consider it. I got a slip for it. Problem is I'm temporarily 8000+miles away LOL.

That's okay. In this economy it'll probably still be for sale when you get back.

I think Jack is positive, no boat is cheap. Boating will always be the best pastime, it will never be cheap.

JM

Yeah, but if that boat is anything like it looks, it IS a good deal. A real Hatteras that runs for that much? I don't even want to be tempted....

I agree that Krush should buy it. I think that is a terrific idea. He needs to suffer like the rest of us do, spend some time pretzeled into the bilge having to fix things, etc. Maybe we should all chip in and buy it and give it to him.

Now don't all applaud at once, here.....

I live in Va Bch and I spoke to the owner about the boat. I think it could go for less. He has someone coming to see it Wed. It is gas powered with chrysler 440's and raw water cooled no generator. I think he said it was a 1966 model. It probably needs some work but might not be that bad.

Looks like a good deal for Krush. Just be sure to limit the range to States that sell non-ethanol gasoline.

I've probably spent more time stuck in bilges than all but a few people on this site. Before I worked on power plants, people paid me to fix their boats (and I paid for much of my college that way).

Actually, I'm full of it. I just talk about fixing stuff on internet forums all day...lolz
