Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
Are there any reasonably priced marinas/boatyards in the Charleston SC area for winter storage of a 53 Hatteras? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try Isle of Palms Marina on Isle of Palms just North of Charleston Harbor (843 886 0209). That is a nice place and is in my opinion reasonable. Also Tolers Cove is across the creek (843 881 0325). These are the two that come to mind when you ask about reasonable rates relative to marinas in Charleston.

Ripley Light Marina, has several 60' Slips for appx. $12.00 per foot. These are very convenient slips and about 20 paces from the parking lot. The number to call is usually listed in the local paper; however, if you don't have access, I'll try to get the number for you. My boat is appx. 6 slips away.

PS Stay AWAY from the boat yards, if at all possible...

Fat Boy is correct. Ripley Light is probably the best 1st choice.
Tolers Cove is usually booked to capacity.
Also, Ashley Marina across the river from Ripley Light & downtown seems to be pretty popular with the winter transients as well: http://www.charlestonwetslip.com/

Where are you coming from?
