Has anyone had experience changing the output oil seal on a M-series Allison in the water?????

The hardest part is getting a puller in there for the coupling on the spline
(and thee retaining nut!).
Perservere; then look at the pics! These are courtesy of Mike on the left coast! ws

One of the other keys is knowing you can push the shaft back far enough to get at it. Sometimes one of the shaft zincs is too close to the cutlass bearing, preventing the shaft form being pushed back far enough. If so, you have to get a diver to take the zinc off.

As a side note, this is one of the benefits of taking pictures of your boat's bottom when it is out of the water. I recently confronted this same operation, and the pix of the running gear I had taken came in very handy.

Hey, thanks for the Pictures that really helps. Good news because of the lack of rain in south texas, I can actually see my running gear. No problem anyway I'll just dive on the prop and remove if neccessary
