I fell in love with boating in 1983 when a friend of the family invited us on their boat for a day, beached the boat and set up the buffet. My parents purchased our first boat the next year and it's been a way of life ever since. As I grew up, my family boats grew as well, in addition to a number of runabouts, speed boats and ski boats. While still single, I purchased a few boats myself, including my Hatteras. It was a love affair that was supported by the members on this forum and the people at Sams. Roger W only fed the fire with his Hatteras University class a few years ago. I am grateful to everyone that has corresponded directly with me as well as posted on the site.
After owning boats for a long time, lastly, my 1980 60' Hatteras Enclosed Flybridge, I have reentered the boating world in a slightly different way. I already have experience with Detroits and gassers, am furthering my skillset with two-stroke and four-stroke outboards, more hands on....and have now reentered the boating community on the other side, as a yacht broker.
I am happy to say that I have put up my shingle at Channel and West Yacht Sales at the Channel Club in Monmouth Beach, NJ. I am not trying to solicit any business on this forum, but if any of the members are in the area, I would encourage you to stop in and say hi.
We are located at 33 West Street, Monmouth Beach, NJ 07750 at The Channel Club. By boat, we are located on the Shrewsbury River off of Sandy Hook Bay at the top of the Shore.
