Hatteras Model
74' COCKPIT MY (1995 - 1999)
Different boat, same goal. I want to mount a wireless, IP camera to the underside of my bow pulpit to see the anchor when I raise it. My goal is to find a camera with the following properties:
1. Waterproof or at least very weatherproof
2. Battery powered so I do not need any wires or the need to connect to a solar panel
3. IP or similar so I can see it while on the boat on my IPhone
4. Connects without the need for the boat to have internet (I will be out at anchor), but I do have a router
5. No cellular connection needed at the camera

I am trying to avoid any hard wiring either for power or video. Any ideas?

Take a look at the Reolink Argus pro. I have been researching these cameras and they are completely wire free and do not need internet, they should work on a local network. I have not purchased them yet, so i cannot comment on quality. I look forward to other peoples suggestions as well.

To bring this full circle, I can report that my anchor cam project is completed. I bought a waterproof stainless backup camera about the size of a quarter, attached it to an AV wireless sender and receiver and plugged the video feed into one of my video inputs on my Garmin 5215 and the project is done. Total cost excluding installation was under $100. I also bought and ended up not using some sort of AV transmitter that would transmit the signal to my IPhone. But, I thought it a little tacky to be using my IPhone as the receiver for the signal. Also, when retrieving the anchor, I usually have one hand on the clutches, one hand on the anchor up toggle leaving no hands to hold my IPhone to look. Besides, I did not want to risk sun glare blocking out the video image on the IPhone. Fortunately, both the transmitter and receiver are mounted in the boat with only the anchor cam itself exposed to the elements. Looking forward to using once the ice thaws up here in New York.

Is the receiver you plugged into the Garmin capable of doing multiple cameras? If so this would be a thought for engine room cameras without pulling wires

Garmin at least the new systems interface with a axis technology cameras.

They can go in networked on the 86xx or through the encoder for the 76xx.

Great stuff. They do indoor, outdoor, ir and ptz. I'm not sure if the ptz can be run from the garmin screen but the rest can.

I also sell these surveillance cameras for security as DOD and Homand use them . They are not like walfart and Costco crap.

But you can add a selector switch to select video source going to the garmin

Or in an enclosed pilothouse you can add a basic desktop and mount a monitor. Even if its not daylight readable (and $$$) it works very well. That s what i did on the 84 i run and sent all four Axis cams to the computer freeing the 3 daylight readable monitors for the nav stuff.

Im taking the old Raymarine out and may just put a screen in there that can handle cameras. I would like to have 4 cameras of the ER on a single screen

We purchase cameras from rear view safety online. We put them on our garbage trucks and they get abused to a whole different level. Prices are great and they have wireless.

What’s the brand name?
