I keep 2 paper logs, one for routine maintenance and one for the refit activities. This year I made them electronic so they are "searchable" - so when I want to look for the details about a product I used, or a procedural detail, I can look that up much more easily.
I also have a spreadsheet for routine maintenance activities- things that need to be done monthly, annually, every other year, every three years.
These systems helped me a great deal to get ahold of taking care of the boat and trying not to let things fall through a crack. I'm a type A personality and this helps me feel organized.
