a bullitt hole........................

The boat is on the hard shrink wrapped in a large boat yard in southern Mass down by the waterfront.

My captain stops by once a week to check on things. Recently he stopped in and when he entered the helm area there was glass everywhere and a big hole in the window.

The police were baffled and basically attributed it to "kids being destructive" or someone shooting at windows in an abandoned mill.

Apparently we caught a stray.

Someone could have been killed.

We chose this yard specifically for it's safeguards. They have barbwire fence, attack dogs and a watchman,,,,who knew.

I think I'd consider moving to a different area where these safeguards are not needed.
I'm glad nobody was hurt!!

I had to argue repeatedly with my own marina in New Rochelle,NY, to NOT put me in the end stall (in the water) about 20 feet away from a fishing bulkhead where guys cast pretty much year round...a prior boat had his window broken from a flying sinker and that was just guaranteed to happen again....

So instead I was downwind during a winter storm and something blew off the deck of a boat down that way...I ended up with two dings in my salon roof when something came loose, bounced across my roof and continued on its way into the water....somebody thought it was a two by four which had been seen on the forward part of a 58 Hatt down there....

During the winter sometimes it is luck of the draw.

Thanks for all of the guesses and sympathy.

See post #1 for an explination of what it is.
