  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Anyone know where I can get matching door trim for our teak cabinet doors? I want to build another cabinet in the salon and would like the doors to match.

I have some extra original doors and trim, and drawers, too. Can you be more specific?

I'll have an opening about 24 x 28-33
high. Can adjust size if needed. Can do as 1 door or 2 doors 12" wide. Anything larger would work as I don't think they would be too tough to disassemble and cut down. Could use smaller by making them a set of raised panels for a larger door. They are the teak panels with 1.25 teak picture frame trim.

Do you mean the "picture frame" trim? A picture example would help.

Here is a picture. Looking for trim or someone who may have doors to sell.

I made my own identical trim (picture frame) for cabinet renovations in the galley. Step 1 is to cut a trapezoid profile from the teak, then 2, pass it across an appropriate large rotary wood file called a burr to generate the concavity. You can't tell it from a good job  Actually I'm a hobbyist cabinet maker, and the result is easy to achieve if you can mount a block of wood as a rip guide to a bench or floor drill and cut the profile. Of course a proper shaper or router blade would be easier.

If you try this and have more than a door or two to do, get a carbide burr.

The first photos were, w x h

6 x 21.75
12.5x 19.5
21.5 x 20 (both doors)

Also, I have two of the 18.5 x 20 h

And I have some drawers in storage too.

Oh, I also kept the OEM hinges and clasps. The pulls, I think we determined, had been replaced but I have them as well.

David,

I sent you a PM.

Thanks,

If you have a pull knob, I could use one.

Larger lumber yards with a mill shop can make a 'temporary' rotary cutter for whatever profile you bring to them. usual set up charge for the cutter is $75 and up, or so. Bring them the teak or mahogany/sapele, they will run it through the shaper and you'll have as much of this trim as you desire.

A trim carpenter friend just made “picture frame” trim pieces for my cousin (42SF). If you can’t find what you need let me know and I will put the two of you together.
