Buddy List / Ignore List

I'm still learning the ins and outs of this site, but here's one I haven't quite figured out.

Is there any real purpose served by listing someone on either of these lists?

If you list someone on your ignore list, do their threads fail to show up on your screen, or does it just serve as a reminder of folks you want to ignore?

I know I'm a bit of a joker, but this is a serious question. Can someone enlighten me, or am I on everybody's ignore list where ya'll won't even know I posted this thread?

Ignore list will block your seeing posts by that member.

Buddy list I'm not sure of. The only thing I've seen it do is put a "+" next to your buddies name when he's on-line.

Dang, that should be the answer for anyone who just plain doesn't want to hear anything certain members have to say.

Maybe that is the answer we have all been looking for! Seriously, why hasn't someone brought this up before? I won't use it, but I bet some people will, and that would be perfectly acceptable.

Now, can somebody point out the value of a buddy list entry? I didn't use to worry about knowing who my buddies were, but it would seem the list is growing by the hour, and I don't want to forget anybody. A man can never have too many buddies!

Randy stop being a paranoid! LOL Look some people like being miserable so leave them alone. You ain't running for president, besides he only got 50.1 percent of the vote, you approval rating is much higher, let's just have some fun. Who knows maybe even your detractors will figure out you are alright! You represent change, and some people are not ready for it. I think that the forum volume has more than doubled and we continue to set records for the number of members online. We hit 159 the other day, so figure just boat value is $250K average x 159 = $39,750,000 dollars worth of hardware online at one time, and that is just boat value. total net worth of viewership is in the billions. I think my bill at Sam's is over a $1,000 bucks this year, including my FLIBS purchase of some Hatteras glasses and clothing. If Hatteras was smart they would cozy up to the membership and pick our brains. I had to resurrect an old Hatteras to get what I wanted. Hatteras should do a 50 footer and call it a Classic. It would be a great entry level boat for the Stink Ray crownd when the decide to buy a "real" boat. Hell, Donsi has been selling Classics for 25 years. Hey, anyone want to talk airplanes give me a call.

Hey Bubba, I'm not being paranoid, I'm just tired of thinking everybody is out to get me!

I wasn't trying to stir the pot, I'm just trying to figure out what all these buttons are for! I didn't get an owners manual with my subscription to this forum.

Hey, I think you have come up with something that will put an end to all our problems both here and in the real world. Let's stop talking about all this other stuff and flood Hatteras with orders for a new "old" Classic! Sam's can make up a bunch of new shirts depicting the new "old" boats, and we'll all buy one for each member of the crew. None of us will have repair issues for years to come. That should make everybody happy!

BTW, if you got out for $1,000 with Sam's this past year, you must be getting better pricing than I am!
