Hatteras Model
37' CONVERTIBLE (1977 - 1982)
I did a a really stupid thing. While my boat was hauled out last spring for bottom paint, zincs, ect, I had a few minutes before it was to go back in the water and I thought I'll check to see if the trim tabs are working properly. I lowered them down, climbed down the ladder, and to my horror discovered the yard had located one of the supports right under my port trim tab. And no surprise, when the boat was back in the water, the port tab wouldn't deploy. The boat is coming out again in a week and the tab is my first priority.
I have two questions.

1) The boat is a 1980 37C, are these likely to be Bennett tabs?

2) Am I correct to assume the most likey damage was to the ram? And how difficult are these to replace/rebuild? (I guess that's three questions)

Thanks
Scott

I think mine had electrical fuses contained in a thick black rubber blob on each wire at the joystick actuator at the helm. Maybe you got lucky and one of these blew. Check for continuity. There may be others nearer the motors aft. Call Bennett. <www.bennetttrimtabs.com>
