Several of the bridge deck windows on my 43' DCMY are cracked, and sevral are also delaminating. The glass is lightly tinted green, so it's probably Solex. I know I can get Solex, but wondered if anyone has used another product with good success.

When I replace the glass I will want to refinish the frames. They are anodized aluminum with the nromal kind of corroison you would expect on a 30 year ols salt water boat. What type of paint is recommended for refinishing, and what is the proper preparation? I assume I need to grind out and fill all the corrosion pits. The Sam's site has great info on installing the glass, but nothing on frame refinishing.

You advice would be much appreciated.

Bill;
Our windows were reset several year back with lots of silicon, and they seem to have held up well. Also check all your roof hand rail screws and screws around mast. We had a little leaking around those fixtures, have sealed with 5200. Good luck!

I had some silcon someone used around the glass. I have found out why it shouldn't be used. The stuff lets nothing stick to it right. It took forever to get it completely off the frames. I used the stuff sams sugested for the glass and 4200 for the frames. So far despite some crazy thunder storms they've stayed dry, PRICELESS. The railing and othe trim are on the list next. Bill
