  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
61' MOTOR YACHT (1980 - 1985)
the time has come to replace the sink/icemaker cabinet on the bridge. Any suggestions as far as materials go? I want to stay away from the original plywood.

Think about PVC. Talk to Lee, he helped me with my side panels and look great.

Going be hard to build a bar that size out of pvc.
Best is probably to build it out of Coosa board and then glass the inside and outside.
You might be able to find somebody with a mold or molds and then work from those.

PVC is available as thick as 3/4", glues easily, can be sanded, painted, screwed, not harmed by water, can be routed and the routed edges don't need protection , If the available colors meet your approval you may not ever need paint.

Just suggesting.

Extruded PVC is not UV stable.

In use it in decks , cabinets and other places with epoxy not polyester. Polyester will not adhere properly.

I've fabricated deck boxes, hatches and tackle centers and painted them to match the boat. It's a great core material with epoxy.

thanks for the reply's and advice.
