Bow Rail hinges

I need to cut into a section of my bow rail so I can swing my dingy (14' Scout center console) onto the front deck. I haven't had any success finding the fittings I would need to make a section open up. Anyone have a source for the hardware?

Hello, I've seen a kind of finger joint fitting that goes onto the rail that you can put a pin in to latch it. I'm away right now but when I return home this week I'll look in my shed for them, I think I have at least one pair. It's been a while since I've seen them but I never throw any boat gear away. Does anyone need an analog cell phone that connects to a ray marina ray230 vhf!

You don’t say the year or model of your boat but I believe you will find that the gate hinges common to many Hatteras were Buck Algonquin. I would certainly check with Sams first because they are the reason we have the forums. If they can’t supply then check Buck Algonquin.

Thanks for the reply's. The boat is a 1984 52C. The bow rail is Stainless tube not the wooden rails.

You probably could find something for Bimini parts. Cut your rail and use end caps, it could swing up or be removed quickly. you can even reuse your cut rail.
