Bow flag staff

What was used originally on the bowsprit in 1976? I have 1 1/4" socket in the bowsprit and it looks like a 48" pole will clear the railings for our club burgee.

I'd like to go with Mahogany but am not sure of the length or if Hatteras used round vs. streamlined staffs.

I will measure the staff this weekend. It is well above the bow rail. If I were to guess I would say 4'. I fly the large Hatteras black flag when I cruise. It stands proud above the rail.

I have a 1989 52c mine is a teak round pole. I did not use it replaced with a ss pole from west marine the flag is under the railing and not in the way of the railing. If i still have the flag pole freight will get it if you want it. LET ME KNOW I WILL HUNT THIS WEEKEND.I BELIVE THE PRICE FROM SAMS IT AROUND 175.00 YOU OWE ME SOMTHING IN THE FUTURE.
