For those that carry a small Boston Whaler-type dink on top of their boats, what type of bottom paint, if any, can you use on those? I notice that many of the folk in our marina who have such dinks don't use any bottom paint.

Would like to put the little boat in the water and use it to scoot around short distances, but in no time at all the bottom gets nasty if left in the water. I am docked in middle Chesapeake Bay area. Would like to keep the dink in the water for periods of time in the summer (e.g., weeks, months) and put it back on top of the "mother ship" for months at a time, particularly during winter. Thoughts?

A good ablative should do it. make sure it is good for the ins and outs as some are better than others. I like Micron 66. especially if it is an unpainted bottom I would sand, prime/seal ( interprotect 200 or something like it) and paint.

I have it on my Whaler and it helps, since we keep it in the water a lot. The yard we use in Baltimore recommends Seahawk Cukote for those parts.
