  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I am near the end of reading ANDREW JACKSON HIGGINS, AND THE BOATS THAT WON WWII, by Jerry Strahan. Higgins built over 10,000 boats mostly the size of smaller Hatts and his story is facinating, particularly his battles with govt bureaucracy. More than a few parallels with Willis Slane.

I recommend it.

Any suggested boat related books for when I finish this one.

Regards

there is a book by bebe the designer/NA " voyeging under power" that i found interesting. in your reading was there any mention of a higgins/boston whaler connecttion?

I have a little ways to go with the book and at this point we just dropped the bomb on Nagasaki. There are not a lot of pages left, but I will look out for any reference to Boston Whaler and let you know.

I agree with your recommendation of Voyaging Under Power. I read it and enjoyed it in my former life, when I mad plans for of fuel efficient single engine boats. My Hatt does not fit that mold, but i like it.

Regards,

I had a pretty good read a bunch of years ago called "Come Hell or High Water". About a single handed sail around the globe.
