boat show ????

Has anyone been to the boat show?? Are there many people at the show. Do you think they are selling any boats?

There are some comments on the "Hatteras 56 is now a 60" and Nordhavn threads.

I was told by a reliable source Monday that Hatteras sold 9 boats at the show plus a few Cabos (I don't remember how many, they exhibited together). At least two of the 9 were the new 60. This is the first time I have visited the yacht and brokerage "side show" on Collins Ave, so can't compare traffic. It was easy to look at boats and get around Thursday, Friday and Monday. The convention center show proper was easy to get around both Friday and Monday, with Monday afternoon being almost completely devoid of shoppers. Made it very easy to get advice and tips from the vendors, my main reason for attendance.

hotels had rooms available last week end, and were actually discounting them. Something never seen during the boat show...

orders dont 'mean a lot, actual deliveries do. at the last FLIBS many builders who had a good number of signed contract saw them cancelled in the weeks following the show, for various reasons incl. financing.

The Seattle boat show, which ended Feb 1, was pretty gruesome. I worked the YC booth for 3 hrs on Fri eve. I got 5 visitors and 3 were YC members "just dropping by." My observation was that we weren't unusual. Grim.
