Boat Security/DVR system

As the title might suggest mine and two other boats were burglarized this past week. I lost 2 flat screen tv's and a hand held vhf, others the same with some easy access electronics as well. NOW, I'm interested in installing an alarm and need advice on the best system. Research shows several wireless systems that notify you via text/email and include air temp, high water, intrusion, etc... Others use canvas snaps, pressure mats, magnetic switches, and yet others have all this and dvr systems with dome cameras, night cameras, etc... Advice appreciated. Our marina is a condo marina and I'm also suggesting we now install a proximity card security gate, cost shouldn't be horrrendous as there is only one entrance/exit but now isn't exactly the best of economic times to hit everyone up for another assessment.

Most of the marina thieves in my past seemed to have arrived and departed by water. The drive through gate only tends to keep pesky yacht brokers out.

Sorry to hear about your losses. A next door neighbor/full time liveaboard is the best deterrent.

What ever kind you decide to get get a mutliplexed system. You can get camera systems that you can fine tune that if even a cat walks into the programmed area it will set it off.
